I am seeing a physiotherapist regularly, but after reading your story I plan to supliment my rehabilitation with some of your recommendations. There were so many volunteers, so many families waiting for their loved ones and so many competitors. It was sore for awhile, but the pain subsided relatively fast. That evening, just before we went to sleep, I asked Jerry to do something about my cast. I bet I could back out onto the road and drive to the end of the road. I massage my leg twice a day at least thirty minutes , do my exercises and stretch it well daily.
The main focus will be balance and my gait and of course strength building. In a way, I felt defeated, but I knew that my time would come and that my ankle will recover. A worse sprain can partially tear them, and they take longer to heal. I will keep it iced and elevated to try and keep the swelling down so when I try the boot walking it will be less painful.
